Police are seeking this suspect in the attack.
A high-strung mom was so offended when an elderly lady scolded her about her rude kid that she snatched a walking cane out of the old er lady’s hand and whacked her at an Upper East Side subway station, police sources said.
“She just beat me up,” the aghast 71-year-old lady told the Post on Tuesday. “I’m in a lot of pain.”
The brawl broke out as the older woman, who has trouble climbing stairs, was about to step onto an elevator at a Q train station at East 86th Street and Second Avenue at around 2 p.m. Monday, police said.
She waited politely, allowing straphangers to walk out of the lift before she entered — only to be pushed aside by the woman and her son, who shoved his way onto the elevator before everybody had filed off, according to police.
Annoyed, she offered the young mom a parenting tip: Teach your kid some manners. “[The victim] told the woman maybe she should teach her child to wait for people to come out of elevator before getting on,” a police source said.
The mom flipped out and started raising cain — shouting wildly at the older woman inside the elevator before tossing her into the street, cops said. She slapped the senior citizen before grabbing her cane and hitting her with it, according to police.
Luckily, a good Samaritan stopped to help, the victim said.
“Thank God there was one person out of a 100 people that helped me and saved me,” she said.
The mean mom then fled with her little boy — but the elderly woman now wants her apprehended. “I want her caught,” the frightened victim said. “I’m scared she’s going to attack someone else. I’m scared for her child who was with her.”
The woman was left with a cut on her hand and suffered from aching pain throughout her body Tuesday, she said.
