Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe and Lao-Tzu, Einstein, Morobuto, Buddy Holly, Aristophanes .. and all of this .. all of this was for nothing unless we go to the stars.

Of Course He Is Cutting The Space Program
Although I'm never a fan of government programs, one of the areas where I am okay with their spending is scientific research. And of course, one of the places Obama sees as ripe for cuts is NASA. You have to wonder if he only likes government programs that actually hurt the country. Maybe he should watch some Babylon 5. I always loved this quote from Commander Sinclair which spells out exactly why we need a space program:
