Brussels civil servants refuse to work 40 hour week
Brussels civil servants are refusing to discuss austerity measures aimed at cutting the cost of the EU – and claim that having to work a 40 hour week would ruin the "attractiveness" of their jobs.
Government employees are just so much more important then the worker bees. This is what's happening in Greece as well. A recent piece in the WSJ indicated that while the private sector has gone through an agonizing downsizing, government employee and their unions have refused every suggestion and not one has been laid off. Any wonder the Germans are tired of carrying their baggage for them.
