Union ideologues don't care about jobs or American. They want power.

Occupiers aim for West Coast port shutdowns

Sally Zelikovsky

On Friday night, November 18th, Occupy Oakland approved a coordinated West Coast port shut down in solidarity with Occupy L.A. and the Longview, Washington longshoremen, and against the EGT grain company. (From occupyoakland.org. Live stream of the gen'l assembly last night.)

The Occupiers blame any deficiency in the state coffers on the 1% who aren't paying their fair share of taxes. Since the Occupation began, California's mayors have failed to protect the non-occupying citizens of California and have tolerated behavior that stifles the very commerce that generates California's tax revenues. These tax revenues are required to fund the schools, build the infrastructure and pay the pensions of retired public union workers--ironically, the casus belli for the Occupation.

With mayor after mayor openly supporting occupation-induced disruptions to commerce--at great financial loss to these cities--will Governor Brown act like the only adult in the room and stop this West Coast port shut down before it begins?
