Criminal lives shouldn't matter too much. It would seem excessive force is a one way street.

WASHINGTON - It was a violent Christmas Eve in the District as there were six separate shootings throughout the day. The shootings have resulted in five deaths.
D.C. police say officers shot and killed a robbery suspect in Southeast D.C. It was one of two police-involved shootings on Wednesday.
The first police-involved shooting occurred at around 3 p.m. near Naylor Road and 30th Street.
Police say the suspect had just robbed someone at a bus stop in the Naylor Gardens neighborhood. Officers saw him running and cornered him in a dead end when they say the suspect pulled out a gun and fired first at officers. Three officers fired back and he was killed at the scene.
Police would not say how many shots were fired, but neighbors we spoke with say they heard at least a couple dozen gunshots.
A second officer-involved shooting happened about a couple of hours later in Northeast D.C. Police say a suspect who attempted to carjack a Fedex van was wounded by officers in that shooting.
Police have not identified the suspects in either of the police-involved shootings.
A woman was fatally shot in front of a bar and restaurant at around 5:30 p.m. on 14th Street in the Petworth area.
There were also three more fatal shootings later in the night.
Police say a 28-year-old Gregory Lee was found shot to death at around 9:05 p.m. in the 1200 block of Stevens Road in Southeast D.C.
Another man was shot and killed in the 2600 block of Sherman Avenue in Northwest at 9:56 p.m. Police are on the lookout for a black male wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black mask. The victim has not been identified.
D.C. police say a sixth shooting victim was found in the 1600 block of Maryland Avenue in Northeast at around 10:13 p.m. Twenty-five-year-old Marquiz Anthony Robinson, of Centreville, Va., was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The violence continued after Christmas. On Friday, December 26th, police say a man was shot in the leg at 13th & Gallatin Street at around 1:30 a.m.

Doesn't D.C. have among the strictest gun laws in the US? I guess the criminals don't care.
