White Privilege Conference Attendees Complain That the Meeting Was ‘Too White’
Attendees at this year’s White Privilege Conference in Philadelphia took to Twitter over the weekend to express their one complaint with the conference: that it was “too white.”
Using the hashtag “#WPCSoWhite” on Twitter, conference attendees complained that the conference, which was supposed to bring to light the issue of white supremacy in American culture, was actually dominated by white supremacy.
One attendee, Aeriel Ashlee, even alleged that the conference’s keynote speaker, historian James Loewen, exercised his “white supremacy” by going over on his allotted time during his speech.
