Arrest made in attack on ice cream man
MEMPHIS, Tenn -- A man is behind bars this morning facing charges connected to Tuesday's brutal attack on an ice cream man.
Dontevious Stewart, 19, is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Police say they found clothing worn by the suspects in his apartment.
Stewart reportedly denied any involvement in the attack which left the man injured and his ice cream truck damaged.
The victim told police the attack was a robbery.
Also overnight, police released a surveillance picture from one of the cameras at the Bella Vista Apartments showing the getaway vehicle.
It's a late-model red Pontiac Grand Am with Mississippi license plates.
The tag number is PAV492 and the vehicle is registered out of Panola County, Mississippi.
During Tuesday's attack, the man was pulled out of his truck by several young men who kicked him, punched him and beat him with a metal baseball bat.
Police say the men took nearly $500 from Mamadou Bahwho ended up in the hospital with several injuries and told us, "Justice. I want justice. I did nothing to them. They came and beat me and take my money and broke the truck."
