Maxine Waters tells supporters what she plans to do to Ben Carson
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) told a town hall rally of supporters, and a few Trump protesters, what she planned to do to President Donald Trump’s Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.
According to a Los Angeles Times reporter at the event on Saturday in Gardena, California, Waters said that Carson should go back to being a surgeon, and then told the audience she would “take him apart” when he came before the House Committee on Financial Services.
Waters is the ranking Democrat on the committee.
The controversial anti-Trump congresswoman also criticized other members of the president’s cabinet including Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The town hall rally was marred by a loud protest when Trump supporters were denied entry into the hall. Waters’ staff had used an online form to identify people who lived from within her congressional district, and those who didn’t.
The staff allowed in those who were in the district, and had police keep the rest outside in an overflow area where they could listen to her speech over speakers. The protesters instead chanted “let us in” loudly, and began using their loudspeakers to hurl accusations at the congresswoman inside.
Waters has been an outspoken critic of Trump, and was among the first members of Congress that called for his impeachment. The congresswoman also said that former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly should have gone to prison alongside Trump, and said the president’s cabinet was full of “scumbags.”
