Shocking footage from a Georgia middle school shows the moment a teacher became caught in the middle of a brawl between students.
The brawl at Rome Middle School in Floyd County was filmed in a classroom and later uploaded to YouTube.

Another student in the classroom filmed the incident on a cellphone and uploaded the footage to YouTube
Video footage shows the two female students shouting to each other before the teacher intervenes.
The teacher is then hit multiple times by the students as she tried to get between the girls as they punched and slapped each other.
The cellphone footage is cut off as other middle schoolers jumped in to try to pull the brawling students apart and away from the teacher.
It is unclear when the fight occurred.
The superintendent of the school district would not reveal if any disciplinary action had been taken, citing privacy issues, according to WSB-TV.

Officials have confirmed an investigation into the fight has been launched.
Floyd County residents voiced their concern about the fight after the footage appeared on YouTube.
“That’s a very unfortunate situation, unfortunate for that teacher to get caught up in that,” Rosemary Ringer told WSB-TV.
Many residents said that Rome is a good school and that they believed the fight was an isolated incident.
Rome is about 80 miles northwest of Atlanta.
