Trump voters are like ‘Nazis,’ MSNBC ‘Morning Joe’ contributor declares

MSNBC “Morning Joe” contributor Donny Deutsch said Friday that Americans who vote for Republican President Donald Trump are like “Nazis.”
In a chat with hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on the controversy over illegal immigrant children being separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border, Deutsch turned his wrath away from Trump and toward those who support him.
“If you vote for Trump, then you the voter — you, not Donald Trump — are standing at the border, like Nazis, going ‘you here, you here,'” Deutsch said in a scathing speech.
“This can no longer be about who Trump is, it has to be about who we are,” Deutsch noted, adding that “we can no longer say Trump’s the bad guy. If you vote for Trump, you’re the bad guy. If you vote for Trump, you are ripping children from parents’ arms.”
Deutch also said Democrats have to make the next election “a referendum” not on “who Trump is, but on who you are.”
“And I think we now have to flip it. It’s a given the evilness of Donald Trump. But if you vote, you can no longer separate yourself. You can’t say, ‘Well, he’s OK, but.’ And I think that gymnastics and I think that jiu-jitsu has to happen.”
Here’s the clip:
The issue has stemmed from the Trump administration’s decision to prosecute all illegal border crossers, which has forced the separation of children from their parents per federal law and longstanding Department of Homeland Security policy. Trump signed an executive order Wednesday ending separation of illegal immigrant children from their parents.
What else has been said on ‘Morning Joe’ about the issue?
Last week, Scarborough equated America’s immigration laws and Border Patrol to something “coming out of North Korea.”
“I know children are being ripped from their mother’s arms, even while they’re breast-fed,” he added. “I know children are being marched away to showers, marched away to showers. Being told they are — just like the Nazis — said that they were taking people to the showers and then they never came back.”
But the White House fired back: “It is appalling that Joe Scarborough would compare sworn federal law enforcement officer — who put their lives on the line every day to keep American people safe — to Nazis. This is the type of inflammatory and unacceptable rhetoric that puts a target on the back of our great law enforcement.”

Donny Deutsch joined his father's advertising firm, David Deutsch Associates, in 1983.[2] In 1989, David Deutsch handed full control of the agency to Donny Deutsch, who became chairman.[2][3] Deutsch renamed the agency Deutsch Inc. and later sold it to the Interpublic Group of Companies in 2000 for $265 million.[2][3][6]
In addition to his work on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, Deutsch has appeared as a regular guest on MSNBC's morning talk show Morning Joe. He also appeared as a judge on television when he appeared on NBC's reality-television series The Apprentice.[7] He now appears regularly on the Today Show, in a segment called "The Professionals".
In April 2013, Deutsch's prime-time CNN talk show (Get to) The Point was cancelled after just one week after the Nielsen Company said the show attracted just 268,000 viewers. The show was also mocked by comedian Jon Stewart on his Comedy Central show.[8] In 2015, the USA Network announced a new television show with Deutsch that premiered in November called simply Donny!, a comedy with Deutsch playing a fictional version of himself.[9] In August, 2016 USA announced the series would not be renewed for a second season.[10]
