Channeling Margret Sanger's eugenics theory

This is disturbing

An Alabama state lawmaker issued a truly disturbing statement while defending women's right to abortion during a Democratic filibuster on the House floor, just before a pro-life bill overwhelmingly passed.

State Rep. John Rogers (D) was one of the few Democrats who hadn't already walked out of the contentious session when two of their proposed amendments were rejected.
His frustration was evident, and his remarks were chillingly callous.
All I'm saying to you is it ought to be the woman's choice," Rogers said. "I'm not about to be the male telling a woman what to do with her body. She has a right to make that decision herself. Through rape or incest. Some kids are unwanted. So you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later. But the bottom line is just that I think we shouldn't be making that decision."

According to the Alabama Political Reporter, Rogers is a Catholic who is personally pro-life. But his remarks are not what one would expect from a pro-life politician.
"Some parents can't handle a child with problems," Rogers said. "It could be retarded. It might have no arms and no legs."
The bill in question, House Bill 314, would make abortion a class A felony and attempted abortion a class C felony.
"This bill would make abortion and attempted abortion felony offenses except in cases where abortion is necessary in order to prevent a serious health risk to the unborn child's mother," the bill reads. "This bill would provide that a woman who receives an abortion will not be held criminally culpable or civilly liable for receiving the abortion."
