Chicago police are left shaken after two officers were shot in the same neighborhood in less than a WEEK as rising crime continues to plague the Windy City

On June 5, an unidentified officer was shot in the arm and chest after conducting a traffic stop along with two other officers
The suspect, who remains on the run, opened fire after pulling over in an alley
The shooting took place in the neighborhood of Edgewood in Chicago's South Side
Another similar shooting took place in the same area of the city on June 1
Officer Fernanda Ballesteros was shot when a suspect opened fire on her after a traffic stop
She sustained a non-life threatening injury to the shoulder and went to the hospital before her release on Monday
An officer with the U.S. Marshals Service’s fugitive apprehension team and his police dog were also shot Thursday
They were serving a warrant in the city’s Northwest Side before the shooting
