Lives lost as a result of irrational compassion....devolution in Seattle

Moment disabled man, 66, is beaten to death with metal pole in Seattle 'by serial criminal who judge freed on felony charges eight days earlier, after asking killer not to commit any more crimes'

  • Aaron Fulk, 48, was caught on camera brutally attacking 66-year-old Rodney Peterman, striking him in the back of the head multiple times with a metal pole
  • Peterman died four days later in a Seattle hospital
  • Fulk is currently being held at the King County Jail on $2.5 million bond after prosecutors argued he was a clear danger to the public
  • He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder
  • Eight days before the attack, he was released by a judge in Pierce County, Washington after threatening a security guard working at a transit stop
  • Pierce County Superior Court Judge Philip Thornton released him without bail after telling him 'not to commit any more crimes'
  • Seattle's city council voted in the fall of 2020 and 2021 to defund the police and since then the force has remained chronically understaffed
  • The new mayor of Seattle, Bruce Harrell, was elected to improve the situation in the city and described the police force as 'devastated and demoralized'
  • Harrell has prioritized tackling the city's homeless problem - one of the worst in the nation - but the move has taken resources from other areas
