A Democrat would have called the police and waited while the woman burned to death for them to arrive. They'd have then organized a rally honoring her death, lead a protest on the city emergency services building demanding more spending on emergency response, and accused Republicans of being responsible for her death because they failed to increase funding years ago.

Our Democrat would then start a foundation dedicated to her memory, collect millions of dollars from sympathetic donors, liberal trusts, and government grant programs, from which they would provide themselves and family with extravagant salaries, expense accounts, and travel allowances. Funds would be provided to ACORN to organize minority groups to protest the racism rampant in emergency response, and Jesse Jackson would demand that the current ER Director be fired and replaced with someone approved by the aggrieved community (test scores waived).

Years later, when it has become too dangerous for emergency response teams to enter the neighborhood due to rampant crime and drug cartel snipers, our Democrat would be the subject of a movie on how the death of a young woman changed their life into one of service and committed them to "making a difference".

Filming would be at the grave site of the woman the Democrat watched burn to death.
