BOGOTA, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Colombian Prosecutor's Office said Friday it had dismantled a drug trafficking network believed to be linked to a Mexican drug trafficking cartel Sinaloa.
Seven members of the gang were arrested for allegedly transporting drugs to Mexican coasts from Bogota and cities in southwest Colombia, said the Technical Group of Investigations (CTI) of the Prosecutor Office.
Sinaloa is involved in the smuggling and distribution of cocaine, marijuana and heroin produced in Colombia, Mexico and Southeast Asia into the United States and other areas.
"During the operation, the CTI seized two vehicles, four weapons, 20 pieces of communication equipment, computers and important documents for the investigation," said a CTI spokesman.
Colombian and Mexican authorities have been working closely in efforts to crack down on drug gangs in the two countries.
