Protecting Trial Lawyers from Tort Reform

So on pages 1431-1433 of the Health Care reform bill they talk about a program giving incentive payments to states who try alternative medical liability reforms. However, they would not be able to receive these incentive payments if the reforms limit attorney fees or cap damage payments. So basically you can try anything other than the solutions that might actually work. So corrupt. (hat tip: Commentary)

  1. What else would you expect from Democrats who loathe tort reform and love lawyers? While I don't think that caps are ideal, they did work in Ohio. I would prefer a system that filters out innocent physicians from the outset, keeping them out of the medical malpractice arena. I've been dragged in many times. I was innocent and released in all cases, but I had to endure the process. See www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com
