What a family...

Daughter of suspect who allegedly kidnapped, raped 3 Ohio women serving time for slashing her own baby's throat

This rotten apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
The daughter of the sicko accused of kidnapping three young Ohio women is serving a 25-year prison sentence in Indiana for viciously slashing her 11-month-old daughter’s throat in April 2008.
“I don’t know how this happened. I want you to know I am a very good mom!” a sobbing Emily Castro, now 25, told an incredulous judge during her 2008 trial on attempted murder charges for the attack on her daughter Janyla, The Fort Wayne Gazette reported.
Emily, daughter of accused kidnapper Ariel Castro, freaked out a day after she was dumped by her baby daddy, Deangelo Gonzalez, and slashed the infant several times across the throat on a Fort Wayne street.
A passerby called cops believing the baby had been attacked by a dog, but the stunned officers quickly determined she had been attacked by Emily.
Her defense lawyers argued she was depressed and paranoid and believed her family was trying to kill her.
Castro’s family and defense lawyers insisted she was depressed and paranoid in the weeks leading up to the brutal assault, from which the baby later recovered.
She even accused her mother, Grimilda Figueroa, and sisters of bedding Gonzalez to steal him away.
Her mother and brother, who is also named Ariel castro but goes by the first name Anthony, testified in her defense.
“She’s not an animal that tried to kill for revenge, as these prosecutors would have you believe,” said Anthony, The News-Sentinal.
But Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck wasn’t buying it and found Castro guilty but mentally ill of attempted murder.
The girl, 5, now lives with Emily Castro’s sister, , Angie Gregg, in Cleveland.
Suspect Ariel Castro posted a birthday greeting to her on his Facebook page April 21: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Grand baby Janyla, love the flower on your hair. I Love You!” followed by a series of x’s and o’s.”
