So, if you don't agree with this candidate you can be compared to murderous thugs?

Democratic candidate for Congress labels Republicans ‘worse than ISIL’ on Twitter, echoes Russell Brand

It looks like this Democrat running for Congress is taking a line right out of actor Russell Brand’s crazy monologue.
Jesse Smith, a Democrat running for Alabama’s 3rd Congressional district, compared Republicans to ISIL (or ISIS) militants on Twitter Monday, asserting that the GOP is “worse” than the terrorists that have wreaked havoc in Syria and Iraq.
“The greatest country on earth is being bullied from within. Actions of Republicans in congress are worse than #ISIL,” Smith tweeted on Labor Day, inviting multiple critical replies from Twitter users.
The tweet was accompanied by a photo of a man wearing red, white and blue garb and kneeling in prayer with the words, “Dear God, I bow my head and ask, if it be Thy will, please save this land from those who seek to destroy it.”

The Democratic candidate for Congress clearly realized his mistake, as he hypocritically claimed in a Facebook post Tuesday that Republicans aren’t like ISIL and proceeded to dig himself into a deeper hole.
“Let me clarify my tweet where I compared the republican party to ISIS,” Smith wrote. “Twitter does not allow for context, but this does. I am not saying that the republican party is beheading people in the streets, obviously. Here in America, because we are a civilized democracy, we do not use violence against each other as a means of control.”
“The republicans have used the economy as a means to terrorize the people of this country,” he continued in the post. “Raising interest on student loan rates, trying to privatize social security, passing tax cuts that only help the super wealthy, cutting the food stamp budget for the neediest of people. These are all examples of how the republican party is terrorizing the middle and lower classes of America.”
Smith also accused Republicans of “openly sabotag[ing] business and worker relations.” He vowed to “stand up and fight for the people.”
Unfortunately for the Democratic candidate, his Facebook rant garnered very few likes and instead provoked several angry comments.
Last week, Russell Brand posted a YouTube video in which he said ISIS is “not as frightening as the people already in power.” Brand defined “the people already in power” as conservatives.
