Another Obama mole gone...when Democrats clean house there are no media complaints.

Trump cans Obama appointee. Media alarmed

President Donald John Trump finally fired Democrat henchman Steve Linick as inspector general at the State Department. Obama appointed him in 2013 and a Democrat Senate confirmed him. He apparently wiled away his time giving documents to House Democrats.

Politico made this politico out to be a martyr. Its story described him as a Justice Department veteran, which is true but he is also politically active. Having someone in your administration who is working to have you impeached and removed from office is unacceptable.

The story said, "Trump's move infuriated Democrats who say he's trying to circumvent oversight of his administration, undermining the ability of other branches to hold him accountable. The move follows Trump's anger at being impeached, but it also comes as the White House struggles to combat the corona virus pandemic just months before the presidential election."

How does firing a mole circumvent oversight?

Only Congress can hold the president accountable.

Not the press.

Not inspectors general.

Not even the Supreme Court; while justices can stop a president's actions, it cannot remove him from office. That's the job of Congress.

Pelosi made a stink about it, or at least her PR agent did, writing, "The president’s late-night, weekend firing of the State Department inspector general has accelerated his dangerous pattern of retaliation against the patriotic public servants charged with conducting oversight on behalf of the American people.

"Inspector General Linick was punished for honorably performing his duty to protect the Constitution and our national security, as required by the law and by his oath."

Politico did not quote the president's letter to Nancy telling her Linick's is out.

Maybe she ripped it up.

CNN has a sextuple byline (6 names) on its story. It contained this gem, "At the State Department, Linick oversaw the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. His May 2016 report on the probe was critical of Clinton, saying the former secretary failed to follow the rules or inform key department staff regarding her use of the private server."

Partisan as all give out.

He should have been canned on Day One. All of them should have.
