Trump Demands Intel CEO "Must Resign" Over Alleged China Ties Cited In Senator Cotton's Letter

President Trump must have read U.S. Republican Senator Tom Cotton's letter, sent to Intel's Board on Wednesday, about the chipmaker's new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan's ties to Chinese firms, and a recent criminal case involving his former company, Cadence Design. That's because Trump just fired off a shocking new Truth Social post moments ago.

"The CEO of INTEL is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

The president continued, "There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem!"

In a letter addressed to Intel Chairman Frank Yeary, Cotton raised the question whether Intel's Board knew about subpoenas issued to Cadence during Tan's tenure, and whether Tan has fully disclosed or divested from Chinese chip firms linked to the Chinese military or Communist Party.

Writing to "express concern about the security and integrity of Intel's operations and its potential impact on U.S. national security", Cotton said in the letter.

Cotton noted that Tan recently pleaded guilty to illegally transferring sensitive chip design technology to a Chinese military university and semiconductor firm while working at Cadence.

Cotton also criticized Intel's decision to hire Tan despite these associations, especially given the company's nearly $8 billion award under the CHIPS Act and its role in the Secure Enclave program, which requires strict compliance with national security protocols.

Intel shares are down nearly 4% in premarket trading in New York.

Here's the full letter from the GOP Senator:

Mr. Frank D. Yeary

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Intel Corporation

2200 Mission College Blvd

Santa Clara, CA 95054

Dear Mr. Yeary:

I write to express concern about the security and integrity of Intel's operations and its potential impact on U.S. national security. In March 2025, Intel appointed Lip-Bu Tan as its new CEO. Mr. Tan reportedly controls dozens of Chinese companies and has a stake in hundreds of Chinese advanced-manufacturing and chip firms. At least eight of these companies reportedly have ties to the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

Mr. Tan was most recently the CEO of Cadence Design Systems, a company that makes electronic design automation (EDA) technology, which is a key enabler of advanced chip design. Last week, Cadence pleaded guilty to illegally selling its products to a Chinese military university and transferring its technology to an associated Chinese semiconductor company without obtaining licenses. These illegal activities occurred under Mr. Tan's tenure.

Intel was awarded nearly $8 billion from the CHIPS and Science Act, the largest grant to a single company. Intel is required to be a responsible steward of American taxpayer dollars and to comply with applicable security regulations. Mr. Tan's associations raise questions about Intel's ability to fulfill these obligations. In the interest of transparency and national security, I respectfully request a response to the following questions by August 15, 2025.

  1. Was the Board aware of Cadence's subpoenas before hiring Mr. Tan as CEO? If so, what measures were taken to address concerns about Cadence's activities under Mr. Tan?
  2. Did the Board require Mr. Tan to divest from his positions in semiconductor firms linked to the Chinese Communist Party or the People's Liberation Army and any other concerning entities in China that could pose a conflict of interest for Intel's CEO?
  3. Given Intel's contract under the Secure Enclave program, has Mr. Tan disclosed any remaining investments, professional roles, or other ties to Chinese companies to the U.S. government?

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Tom Cotton

United States Senator

Biden abused his authority by turning FEMA into a far-left political machine

Miranda Devine: Biden abused his authority by turning FEMA into a far-left political machine

The Biden administration abused its power by turning the entire mechanism of the federal government into a Democratic voter mobilization campaign, according to newly unearthed White House documents viewed exclusively by The Post.

The worst offender was FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the Department of Homeland Security, which was controlled for four years by Biden’s Machiavellian border buster Alejandro Mayorkas.

When responding to an emergency or a natural disaster, FEMA employees were directed to make voter registration a “key priority.”

They politically targeted vulnerable people in their hour of need instead of focusing on providing federal assistance.

Left-wing NGOs were brought in to “educate” FEMA staff about “equity and voter access for individuals affected by disaster,” says a Trump administration official.

“FEMA’s job is to make sure Americans who have suffered catastrophic loss due to some disaster in their community [can access] food, water and shelter … Under President Biden, FEMA, like every agency, produced a plan on how they would leverage these crisis situations for political [purposes]. I can’t think of anything more disgusting.”

FEMA snubbed GOP

FEMA employees were so fixated on voter outreach that, when they visited hurricane-ravaged Florida last October, they didn’t even bother knocking on the doors of houses that had Trump signs in the yard.

Instead of assisting Hurricane Milton survivors, they were instructed to “avoid homes advertising Trump,” according to an Office of Special Counsel complaint.

FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington was fired as a scapegoat after Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called foul on the scam and the Daily Wire reported that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags had been skipped by FEMA and denied the opportunity of qualifying for federal assistance.

It stands to reason that if FEMA’s priority was getting out Democrats to vote, the last people they would want to visit were Trump supporters.

The Florida scandal came on the heels of the Biden administration’s sluggish response to Hurricane Helene in Trump-supporting rural areas of North Carolina and Tennessee.

Whether it was Hurricane Helene, the Maui wildfires, Hurricane Ian, or the East Palestine train derailment in Ohio, FEMA always came up short during the Biden years.

The agency’s inadequate performance is more understandable when you realize that providing actual disaster relief to victims had become simply a side dish to the partisan political priorities of the Democratic Party.

Reid Hoffman Stands By Smartmatic Amid Latest Bribery Charges After Gifting Firm $25M To Fight Election Reporting

Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn who has backed Smartmatic — the company suing Fox for alleged defamation following the 2020 election — is remaining silent in the wake of new bribery allegations against Smartmatic’s co-founder.

Roger Piñate, the co-founder of Smartmatic, allegedly bribed Tibisay Lucena Ramírez in 2019 with a luxury home in Caracas in exchange for helping Smartmatic in a commercial dispute with the Venezuelan government, according to The Miami Herald. This happened afterSmartmatic accused President Nicolás Maduro of committing fraud and subsequently ceased operations in the country. Ramírez is the head of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council and, according to The Miami Herald, “wielded broad authority over the country’s controversial voting system and its private vendors.”

We need to stop being squeamish about the war with the Islamists!

International observers are reporting that ISIS-aligned soldiers are beheading Christians and burning churches and homes in central and southern Africa – with some of the most brutal attacks happening in the nation of Mozambique.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) – a counter-terrorism research nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. – is sounding that alarm about what it describes as a "silent genocide" taking place against Christians.

The Islamic State Mozambique Province (ISMP) recently released 20 photos boasting of four attacks on "Christian villages" in the Chiure district, in Mozambique's northern Cabo Delgado province, according to MEMRI.

Another Step Toward Freeing Washington From The Union Grip

We’ve been told for decades that working for the government is a calling, a service to society not unlike being called into the ministry or feeling an obligation to teach the next generation of Americans. If so, why do public employees need unions? Maybe in our lifetimes we’ll see public-sector unions reduced to the rubble they should have been crushed into decades ago.

Government workers aren’t angels and their union affiliations aren’t sacred. The country would be better off with far fewer of the former and none of the latter. To this end, President Donald Trump issued an executive order in March that barred agencies that have national security missions from conducting collective bargaining with unionized workers. Naturally, the unions, fearing that their easy money was in jeopardy, took the administration to court.

The order was blocked by a federal district court, but last week the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the administration a stay of the lower court’s injunction. The unions of course yawped as if they had been ordered to the slaughterhouse.

At one time, rational thinking in Washington said no to federal employee unions. But President John Kennedy signed an executive order that allowed federal workers to organize. Since, public-sector unions have benefited those who’ve been able to procure government jobs, as well as the union bosses whose greed for members’ dues is well documented.

But just as consumers lose when they buy goods and services that have been stamped with the union label somewhere along the way, taxpayers are fleeced by public-sector unions. Federal employee salaries and benefits are about 30% higher than comparably skilled private-sector workers. Compared to all workers in the private sector, federal workers earn 80% percent more, on average. Powerful unions, says the Committee to Unleash Prosperity are also “why it’s been near-impossible to fire even the most incompetent federal bureaucrats.”

The average compensation gap for federal employees has existed for decades, but it widened significantly from 2000, when it was less than $14,000, to 2018, when it reached more than $30,000. It had closed a bit by 2021 to about $25,000, but that’s hardly progress.

With their extra dollars, organized federal workers also make generous contributions to Democrats, who, when elected or reelected, work as hard as they possibly are able to further entrench the federal work force, boost pay and hire new workers to expand the unaccountable administrative state. As we’ve seen in recent months, the bureaucracy is a barrier to reform. It has no interest in taxpayer relief, or even in performing productively for its “customers.” It’s a slopping blob focused only on expanding its power and reach.

Trump, a businessman who knows the harms caused by unionization, has had organized federal employees on his removal list since his first term. As a representative of the taxpayers, he boldly picked the fight that presidents before him should have. If he wins, it will be more than a political victory. It will be triumph of progress.
