It is apparent that her books sales have not reached levels hoped for. But, the question is why did she get a $14 million advance when the possibility of Simon and Schuster recouping it investment is unachievable. Why would a savvy, certainly not from corn husker land, business intentionally lose money?
Did they think they had found another J.K. Rowland?
Was it simply money laundering?
