Democrat, you bet!
Indicted City Councilman Larry Seabrook said he has no plans to resign and laughed at the notion that he took a $50,000 bribe, in his first comments since being charged with fraud, money laundering and accepting a bribe.
When asked whether he accepted a bribe from boiler company executive Leon Eastmond, Seabrook, a Bronx Democrat, said "absolutely not" four times and laughed.
The 66-page indictment made public earlier this month alleges Seabrook took Eastmonds handout in exchange for helping him win a contract for the new Yankees Stadium.
Seabrook insisted he will fight the charges and implied the indictment actually proves his innocence.
"I think if you read it, you'll see for yourself from that," he said when asked about the accuracy and fairness of the charges.
