The new world order

Chinese buyers snapping up French vineyards

Chinese businessman Richard Shen Dongjun feels right at home in Bordeaux. And he's one of a growing number of Chinese investors buying French chateaux to produce their own wines.

Given what the Chinese are now paying for First Growths this is a smarter then the average bear move. A wine insider friend of mine has given me some examples of what the Chinese are paying for Lafite, Petrus and the like and all I can report is that my mouth dropped. They are paying for one bottle what was recently common for a case.
