Iron Dome intercepts Grad rocket above Be'er Sheba

14:23 GMT, November 1, 2011 Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers operating an Iron Dome anti-rocket battery successfully intercepted on Monday evening (October 31) a Grad rocket in the Be'er Sheba region.

The interception prevented the Grad rocket from exploding in a populated area of Be'er Sheba.

Earlier on Monday, three rockets fired from the Gaza Strip landed in the Sdot Negev Regional Council and Ashkelon.

Since Saturday, more than 35 rockets have been fired by terrorists in the Gaza Strip at the communities of southern Israel, killing one Israeli and injuring 20 others.

On Sunday night, a terrorist squad that fired a Qassam rocket at Israel from the southern Gaza Strip was targeted shortly afterwards by an Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft. A hit was confirmed.
