Watch: Millennials say Venezuela is doing a great job of handling income inequality
Documentarian Ami Horowitz interviewed millennials from New York's East Village and found that not only do they care deeply about income equality, they believe Venezuela is an example we should follow in tackling it. (Ami Horowitz video screenshot)

Documentarian Ami Horowitz recently interviewed millennials about income equality, and how it should be handled in the U.S.
Not only did the millennials say that income equality was one of their top issues, they said Venezuela was the example that the United States should follow on how to deal with this issue, presumably on the theory that when everyone has zero of everything, there would be no income inequality.
Horowitz conducted his “man on the street” interviews in East Village, which Horowitz called the “hipster capitol of New York.”
During the interviews he asked millennials if income equality was an important issue to them. The millennials told Horowitz that income equality is one of the most important issues, with one interviewee saying that issues like “climate change” occur as a result of income inequality.
Horowitz then asked the millennials if we should be following the lead of countries like Venezuela who are tackling the issue head on. The millennials all agreed.
“Even though there’s some downside, there’s some violence there and some food lines,” Horowitz said to one man wearing a bandana, “but still everyone has to do the same thing — they wait in line equally. And I think that’s a fair system.”
The bandana wearing man nodded along with Horowitz, and added “I agree.”
“If we all give a little bit, and we become a little bit more socialist, that’s how we do it,” the man later said.
Another woman said that the United States could stand to be a lot more like the rest of the world, which was “more dignified than us.”

Actually, Venezuela is a socialist hell on Earth
The socialist nation of Venezuela is facing a plethora of issues. Chief among them is the nation’s free falling economy. According to experts, Venezuela’s inflation is expected to reach 720 percent this year, and a staggering 2,068 percent in 2018.
Inflation has become so dramatic that the fake digital currency used within the online game World of Warcraft is worth more than Venezuela’s currency, the bolivar.
This economic crisis has resulted in shortages of everything from food, to toilet paper. Mass starvation has gripped Venezuela as a result. Reports said that 75 percent of Venezuelans have lost an average of almost 20 pounds.
Additionally, some women have chosen to sterilize themselves to avoid pregnancy due to the inability to find items such as medicine, clothing, or baby formula.
Venezuelans have taken to the streets in protest due to the crisis. Rioters clash with police regularly, sometimes resulting in brutal and bloody conflicts.
