Far-left filmmaker Michael Moore on Friday called the National Rifle Association a “terrorist organization” and said the media should “speak of the NRA in the same way they do of ISIS.”

His Facebook post also claimed that while there have been 79 “ISIS-inspired deaths” in America, there have been 1.2 million gun deaths in America since the Beatles’ John Lennon was fatally shot in December 1980.
Moore said the blame for the aforementioned gun deaths rests with “the NRA & the politicians they buy,” who’ve helped make it “easy for anyone to have as many guns as the [sic] want.”
The NRA on Friday didn’t immediately respond to TheBlaze’s request for comment on Moore’s Facebook post, which had been shared more than 2,000 times in its first three hours.

What else is being said about the NRA since the deadly mass shooting at a Florida school?

The NRA has come under intense fire from many corners since the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida, last week that resulted in 17 deaths.
  • NBC’s Megyn Kelly criticized the NRA last Thursday, saying the organization is “too powerful” and that “our politicians are too weak, and the guns are too ubiquitous.”
  • Multiple mainstream media outlets declared that the Florida school shooter was trained by the NRA, but that claim was debunked.
  • Multiple students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — where the deadly shooting took place — appeared on talk shows last weekend and blasted the NRA, saying among other things, “you sicken me.”
  • A Dallas city councilman wants the NRA to find someplace else to hold its annual conference, which is set for May in Dallas.
  • A survivor of the Florida school shooting asked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at a town hall if he would deny NRA donations to his political campaign, resulting in great applause.
