'People want to know how you're gonna create a job'

Not everyone on her staff views that as the kind of issue that will win them a primary, and ultimately a potential general election against President Donald Trump, however.
"At the end of the day if we're gonna prioritize pronouns over making sure people have a decent standard of living, that's wrong," Warren campaign Iowa field organizer Angel Alicea said in a video published Monday by Project Veritas.
Alicea is referencing a relatively recent emphasis on the use of people's chosen pronouns, rather than assuming the pronoun of their biological gender. "When you come from where I come from, no one gives a f*** about a godd**n pronoun. They want to know how you're gonna create a job."
"I'm like here for the pronoun thing, but I feel like I shouldn't have to say 'he/him/his," Alicea said. "Like shouldn't it just be implied? ... Like I've been called out for saying something like that, but this is why we lose elections, because we're zeroing in on s*** like that."
Warren has vowed that her Cabinet would include LGBTQ representation. She said half of her Cabinet would include women or gender nonbinary people, and she said her education secretary would have to pass an evaluation from a transgender child before being selected.
Alicea believes the Democratic Party has erred by prioritizing LGBTQ issues like pronoun usage over the economic well-being of Americans, and that could cost them in 2020.
"At the end of the day we've become the party that has prioritized that rather than putting food on the table for working families, and it's like, that's why we lose," Alicea said. "It's a f***ing no-brainer why we're going to godd**n lose an election."
