Massachusetts trooper injured after being dragged down busy street by getaway driver: horrifying video
A Massachusetts State Trooper was dragged down a busy road after pulling over a Mercedes driver for a traffic violation, shocking video shows.
The unidentified officer, who was left injured in the incident, had pulled over 31-year-old Derek Lobo at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday for “motor vehicle violations,” according to the state police’s Facebook post.
Dashcam footage shows the cop and his partner leaning into Lobo’s Mercedes with the driver’s door open. Seconds later, the unidentified officers lean further into the car, appearing to struggle with Lobo as his partner, Corey Douglas, reaches to grab his colleague to pull him out.
Douglas’ attempt was futile as Lobo took off down the road, taking the officer with him as Douglas ran back toward the cruiser.
Lobo drives wildly down the street while the officer holds on to the door before being thrown from the car, skidding across the road several feet. The officer suffered minor injuries, according to police.
The assailant was apprehended a day later at a residence on Union Street and taken into custody.
