Kash Patel erupts at 'buffoon' Sen. Adam Schiff over Russiagate: 'You are the biggest fraud'
WASHINGTON — FBI Director Kash Patel blasted Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) during a fiery exchange over the Russiagate scandal, lambasting him as a "political buffoon at best."
"What I am doing is protecting this country, providing historic reform and combatting the weaponization of intelligence by the likes of you and we have countlessly proven you to be a liar in Russiagate, in January 6th," Patel told the California Democrat.
"You are the biggest fraud to sit in the United States Senate. You are a disgrace to this institution and an utter coward," the FBI boss went on, raising his voice.
"I'm not surprised that you continue to lie from your perch and put on a show so you can go raise money for your charade. You are a political buffoon at best."
Schiff had pressed Patel about the quiet transfer of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell to a lower-security federal facility in Texas, a decision that the FBI boss claimed was under the purview of the Bureau of Prison.
The Californian suggested that the FBI director believed the American people were "stupid" if they were supposed to believe that Maxwell's movement wasn't related to her having recently given an interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
"All you care about is a child sex predator that was prosecuted by a prior administration and the Obama Justice Department and the Biden Justice Department did squat!" Patel exploded.
"And what did President Trump do? Bring new charges, courageously," he went on.
