A distraction from the "phony scandals"?

Senior U.S. Official: Intercepted Al Qaeda Communications Indicate Planned Attack ‘Big,’ ‘Strategically Significant’

It would appear that Obama's bravado about killing Bin Laden was meaningless. Perhaps Bin laden was less important then what Benghazi showed the Islamists. If these threats are real it shows that Obama was naively arrogant in claiming Al Qaeda was decimated. Al Qaeda is only one faction of the larger Islamist terror operation.

Now, if nothing happens will it be seen as Obama being successful or it was a ploy to expand the funding and activities spying on Americans? Or, will it be seen as an attempt to distract us and mostly the compliant media from the "phony scandals" which unfortunately are not very phony at all.
