The Micromanagement of Israel by Obama

While the brutal crackdowns on dissent in Iran and Myanmar are considered "internal" affairs that the US doesn't want to meddle in, it appears that Obama has no problem with meddling with every aspect of Israeli government. The US Embassy in Israel is currently protesting the possibility that the Knesset might commemorate the memory of Rabbi Meir Kahane on the anniversary of his assassination at the hands of an Al-Qaeda linked terrorist. The issue is that he is a "controversial" figure and this might hurt the peace process. Of course they have no problem with the Palestinians commemorating Arafat, a terrorist with gallons of blood on his hands (I'm not aware of Kahane actually having any blood on his hands). In fact, Israel is supposes to ignore the fact that almost the entire Palestinian Authority is made up of murderous terrorists for the sake of peace, but Israel isn't even allowed to commemorate a politically incorrect Jewish leader. As a libertarian I definitely do not agree with much of Kahane's platform but I know that his goal was simply to protect the Jewish people and he certainly didn't deserve to be murdered and he should be commemorated in the Knesset.
