The 1921 page spending Bill

Do you recall when Obama signed the financial overhaul bill he specifically pointed out the need to change credit card agreements from small type and needing lawyers to interpret to something a person could understand?

Yet, all the Democrat proposals from Obamacare, financial overhaul to this spending bill are outrageously long, convoluted and submitted with the same kind of hurry up requirement that would make any huckster proud. Have we become a Nancy Pelosi style government where you must pass things unconsidered so you can find out what's in the legislation?

The legislative process has been destroyed not only by earmarks but by bundling. Bills for defense should be exactly that. Bills for unemployment should stick only to unemployment without peripheral matters intruding. That way you could see what's really being done.

Congress has become a sausage factory in a dark basement somewhere away from the light of transparency where the goal is to reward friends and constituents with money which they hope will come back to them in contributions. There is no system to prevent this except transparency and the light of day and ethical integrity.

And, now they and the President have isolated themselves further from any criticism by permitting the establishment of Agencies and Czars that can make rules with no Congressional oversight. Can't get cap and trade? Just have the EPA declare carbon dioxide a toxic chemical. Everything else will follow.
