The unemployment numbers, don't be mislead.

The only way the 8.6 % number could be achieved is by adding the 120,000 new hires with the 300,000+ that have left the labor force (stopped looking for a job and therefore no longer unemployed). If 120,000 new hires could have that large an impact on the unemployment number the base line must be much smaller then it really is. It's based on the U3 set of statistical calculations. Wait for the U6 numbers which will be much less appealing.
