A stunning bit of depravity.
A baby boy was found dead in the courtyard of a Queens building Friday morning — and it appeared he was thrown from a 4th floor window, police sources said.
The infant, identified as Ahmad Rizwan, had just been born on July 18, according to cops.
His body was found by a neighbor at 85-55 115th street in Richmond Hill around 4:00 am.
“I stepped outside for some fresh air,” said Mazoo Ilyayeva, a 20-year-old who lives on the 4th floor. “As soon as I closed the door I heard a little thud like a book thrown through the window and for some reason something told me to go downstairs. (That’s) when I saw the baby laying there with blood all over. He was laying on his side wearing a onesie. (It was) like seeing a dead puppy laying on the street. I didn’t have the power to scream. I just called 911.”
After police arrived on the scene, Ilyayaeva saw 6 adults being escorted out of the apartment by officers.
“The mother was definitely in shock,” she said. “She didn’t cry. I didn’t see any tears. She was holding the man’s hand, like gripping him.”
Rizwan’s mother, identified as Rashida Chowthury, 21, was taken into custody and transported to Jamaica Hospital’s psychiatric unit, sources said.
Cops are currently questioning the child’s 40-year-old father and four others who were in the apartment at the time of his death.
Police are still investigating.
