SEE IT: Oblivious man walks through Greenwich Village subway tunnel, causing massive delays

The Summer of Hell has brought the Summer of the Zombie!
A shambling, apparently oblivious man wandering through a Greenwich Village subway tunnel wreaked havoc on thousands of morning rush hour commutes Thursday.
An uptown No. 2 train was forced to slam on the brakes when the man, dressed in white, was spotted walking along the roadbed near the 14th St. station about 7:15 a.m.
He then decided to take a rest, angered commuters said.
“He was laying down, then got up and sat on (the) tracks feet from first train car,” commuter Casie Jordan tweeted.
The MTA quickly re-routed 1, 2, and 3 trains in the area, causing massive delays.

“All trains delayed because of a person sitting on the tracks at 14th Street, as one does on a Thursday morning,” straphanger Eileen McNamara tweeted.
First responders grabbed the man and pulled him off the tracks by 7:30 a.m., an MTA spokesman said. Charges against him were pending.
All trains were allowed to resume service once the man was taken to safety, the spokesman said.
Thursday’s unexpected delays came as Amtrak and the MTA continue a massive rehab of its tracks and switching stations in and around Penn Station.
The rehab is expected to spark massive transit delays this summer, dubbed by many transit riders as the Summer of Hell.
