The Spanish-style spread, which has been on the market for $47.5 million since May, has been pending sale since Friday, listing records show. 

Until the deal closes, a deed, and therefore information regarding a buyer and final sale price, will not be available 

Lennon and Ms. Ono, 87, bought the estate in January 1980 for $725,000 using his real estate company Pentacles Realty Inc., property records show. Less than a year later, on Dec. 8, Lennon was shot and killed outside of The Dakota, his apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. 

Ms. Ono parted with the mansion in 1986 for $3.15 million, according to records. 

Palm Beach locals still refer to the house as “The John Lennon House,” according to The Palm Beach Daily News, which first reported that the home had found a buyer. 

The “gorgeous landmarked estate,” has an extensive and rich history and features “stunning architectural details and oversized fireplaces,” according to the listing with Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment. 

Spanning upward of 10,500 square feet, the seven-bedroom home has a large dining room, a library, a grand salon with a wet bar and an owner’s wing with a sitting room, dual bathrooms and a large, open terrace, the listing said.

There's also a tennis court, two swimming pools, a beachfront cabana and 180 feet of ocean frontage.  

The property is being sold by an investment banker and his wife, a fitness studio entrepreneur, who have owned the mansion since 2016, after paying a little over $23 million for it, property records show.
