WHO’S OBSESSED WITH RACE?
The BBC has apologised to Nigel Farage after one of its presenters misquoted his comments about the killing of Henry Nowak.
During Tuesday’s Newsnight programme, Matt Chorley, the presenter, said that the Reform UK leader had told the public to respond to the murder with “white cold rage”, when he had said “pure cold rage”.
Reform argued that this implied a racial element to what Mr Farage had said and changed his meaning.
Of course it did. The BBC just made it up: I have heard of “white hot rage,” but “white cold rage” is a new one, fabricated for the occasion. And they didn’t just do it once:
Mr Chorley incorrectly claimed three times that Mr Farage had instead used the phrase “white cold rage”.
Farage’s comments had nothing to do with race. It was the BBC that introduced race into the conversation, consistent with its own obsessions. This happens all the time.
Reform UK’s legal letter, seen by The Daily Mail, accused Mr Chorley of “racialising” Mr Farage’s response. The party said: “It suggests that Mr Farage, far from condemning racialised treatment, was himself invoking race as a basis for public anger.
“In a national debate in which his opponents are already accusing him of inflaming racial tension, that alteration is not inaccuracy at the margins.”
Correct. Left-wing institutions like the BBC weaponize race, because they have nothing to say about the actual issues–here, the need for competent and non-discriminatory law enforcement. The BBC may have apologized for now, but there is zero chance that it will stop trying to play the race card against its political opponents.
