Self admitted child molester to campaign for Hillary: What juicy irony.
Actress Lena Dunham and former U.S. women’s national team powerhouse Abby Wambach will join Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail this week.
Wambach, who retired in December, will stump for Clinton with Dunham in New Hampshire, according to the Boston Globe.
The two will speak at a “Women for Hillary” event in Portsmouth on Friday, then go their separate ways for events in Manchester, Dover, Concord, Salem, Lebanon and Keene.
The events are intended to target women voters before the New Hampshire primary.
The latest CNN/WMUR poll of New Hampshire Democrats shows Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) leading Clinton among women, 48 percent to 42 percent.
Wambach, 35, retired from soccer after the U.S. women's team took home the gold in the World Cup last summer in Canada. With 184 goals, she holds the record for most goals scored by any man or woman in the history of international soccer.
Dunham, who is best known for creating and starring in HBO’s “Girls,” previously announced her plans to campaign with Clinton in January in Iowa.
