Bodycam captures moment Nathaniel Huey Jr. dies in fiery crash with fiancée after being accused of killing family of 4, 3 dogs

Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment a man accused of killing an Illinois family — including two young kids and three dogs — died alongside his fiancée in an apparent murder-suicide.

Nathaniel Huey Jr., 31, and his fiancée, Ermalinda Palomo, 50, died in a fiery car crash after a police chase in Oklahoma on Sept. 20, according to bodycam footage obtained by ABC 7 Chicago

The video from the Catoosa Police Department, near Tusla, shows the wreck following a short chase that ensued after officers received a notification from a digital license plate reader that the vehicle was wanted in connection to a murder suspect.

Officers screamed for the pair to get out of the car as it caught fire after it struck the highway median, and police heard two gunshots, according to the footage.

The video shows an officer leaning over the barrier, banging a baton against the driver’s window to break it as flames engulfed the hood of the car.

Palomo was pulled from the car with a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, where she died. Her family insisted to ABC 7 Chicago that she had nothing to do with the Romeoville family murder.

Huey was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, just three days after the quadruple murder.

Both were named persons of interest in the deaths of Alberto Rolon, 38, Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, and their two children, 10-year-old Adriel and 7-year-old Diego, who were found dead during a welfare check on Sept. 17.

The family and their pets were all fatally shot, police said.

Authorities have not released a motive for the murders, and Romeoville police said there is still an active investigation going on.

The family had moved to Romeoville only four months before their tragic end. Their children were students at RC Hill Elementary School.

“These were hardworking people that had just bought their first home. Their kids were the sweetest most innocent angels who could hug your worries away,” a GoFundMe page stated.

“In just a few hours their lives, their family’s lives completely changed. The world is going to be a much dimmer place without them.”
