BOGOTA: At least four people were killed and 12 wounded in an attack by leftist FARC rebels in southwestern Colombia, authorities said. Three children and a woman were killed and others, including several children, were wounded in the attack on the town of Roberto Payan, said Fabio Trujillo, an official from the area. "These are preliminary numbers, remote areas could have also been affected," he said. Trujillo said the rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia appeared to have tossed several gas cylinders filled with explosives, hitting at least three spots in town. A government spokesman said the guerrillas fled without being captured by authorities.
