The Stimuls Bill

To fully understand why the so called "Stimulus Bill" has no stimulus elements in it one has to look at the folks who proposed it. In short it's people who truly do not want growth. That's why the Bill is primarily redistributionist and pork to non productive groups.

The House is led by Congresswoman Pelosi who is totally of a mind with those in California and elsewhere who believe growth is destructive, creates global warming, etc. Pick the looniest environmental group you can think of and she'll agree with their goals: hate cars, drilling logging, nuclear power, fireplaces, spraying to control invasive and agriculturally destructive insects and home schooling. The list is longer but these are what immediately come to mind. The other Democrat Congress critters from California and other uber Liberal states are with her. The Senate may have a few more rational inhabitants but we'll see what they're made of in the next few days. I don't believe they'll do anything other then follow the President and the Democrat leadership.

Since the meme among the intellectuals is that the earth cannot withstand bringing all peoples up to America's living standards, we will just have to reduce our standards to something between western Europe and China. This Bill as some have labelled "Porkulus" is a fine example of what the future holds.
