Two Laws Approved “Nocturnally and Treacherously” in Venezuela

The pace at which the Marxist revolution, “Bolivarian” revolution for him, of Hugo Chávez is taking place is alarming, to say the least. It is more than alarming because it already is an open aggression against individual rights and public freedoms in what is, although someday it might be necessary to say was, the Republic of Venezuela.
At night on Thursday, August 13th, and immediately after midnight on Friday, two laws were approved, at the speed of light that are destructive of the democratic and cultural life of Venezuelans. The laws are the Education Reform, which obviously would set up brainwashing of children and youths, and the Law of Urban Lands, which authorizes the expropriation of buildings and lands considered by the government as not being fully utilized. All this was done without the presence of the democratic sector of the legislature which had left the Assembly in protest when the so-called education reform was being discussed. It is not exaggerated to say that these laws were approved “nocturnally and treacherously” a definition that is condemned in all civilized penal codes.
Everything that Chávez is doing in Venezuela has an immediate effect on several nations of the Hemisphere whose governments have emerged or have become stronger thanks to the petrodollars distributed in huge amounts by the Venezuelan dictator. Naturally, everything has its starting point in the horrific totalitarian Marxist-Leninist tyranny that has been oppressing the Cuban people for the last fifty and a half years, the tyranny of Fidel Castro. Already, in the midst of immense and justified alarm and indignation, are being felt the effects of what Rafael Correa, recently reelected for a second term, is doing in Ecuador.
With so much civic and political tragedy going on in Venezuela, one must recognize, with applause and hope, the efforts of many thousands of Venezuelans in Caracas and other cities, who are demanding freedom and democratic institutions. These are impressive public demonstrations, which are recorded in photos and videos, that really show the magnitude of these events that highlight the values of the democratic efforts of the Venezuela that opposes the Marxist dictatorship – identified by him as “Bolivarian” – of Lt. Col. Hugo Chávez.
