Harmonizing Facts with Expectations - Gov't as Usual

“My business,” wrote British scientist and educator Thomas Huxley in 1860, “is to teach my aspirations to conform themselves to fact, not to try and make facts harmonize with my aspirations.”

Since reducing salt intake is in the news again for NYC, is there were some new evidence that makes salt bad again?  In short, there is not.  Current evidence supports that low normal salt consumption may actually be worse for you than 'normal' salt consumption.  Yet, an anti-salt agenda with the concomitant government meddling, the National Salt Reduction Initiative, is still going strong.

God save us, because our politicians and some scientists certainly seem to have other priorities, and not only in the climate debate.
