American has watched with morbid curiosity as swarms of hate-filled, sputtering communist loons and Hippie-wannabees have taken to the streets, shutting down cities and leaving a path of destruction wherever they go. Although many Americans disagree with the stated agenda of these radicals, most think them harmless, dismissing their acts as pathetic attempts to resurrect the failed social movements of the sixties. Americans laughed at the ridiculous combination of public defecation and urination with the supposedly high-minded ideals for which OWS stands, i.e., the end of corporate greed and the attainment of social equality.
No longer is OWS a joking matter. The mere incitement to violence has turned to actual
violence. The stated plans for coordinated, global disruption with the intent to precipitate the collapse of the United States are gaining momentum. The possibility cannot be entirely ruled out that the movement will achieve at least some of its goals. In point of fact, there are numerous documented times throughout world history that mob movements have gained enough leverage to overthrow localized power structures, e.g. Nazi Germany, Leninist Russia, etc.
With the official blessing of the divider-in-chief, and the support of so many celebrities, why do conservatives think that OWS is something that will blow over?
To understand OWS as a movement, one must understand Lisa Fithian, the primary OWS organizer. Who is she? Why does she matter? What does she want? In a word:
destruction. Destruction describes the very essence of Lisa Fithian; irrational hate, channeled into concrete action directed at what she hates. And Fithian hates
America.
Fithian embodies all the radicalism of the sixties, fused with a pathological disdain for ownership, wealth and private property (with the exception of her own wealth and property). Writing for a socialist rag, Fithian once stated, “I have no issue with property destruction…We’re in a society where property is idolized, so a lot of people don’t get it yet that it doesn’t really matter. It’s just glass and products.” Fithian is not stopping with theoretical condemnations of property-ownership either. Fithian fully intends riots and violence to consume the ownership society that is the foundation of freedom in America. Property is the most fundamental freedom enjoyed in western nations, and is arguably the root of all other freedom. Consider the words of John Locke, 18th century political philosopher, and source of American constitutional thought:
Man being born, as has been proved, with a title to perfect freedom, and an uncontrolled enjoyment of all the rights and privileges of the law of nature equally with any other man…hath by nature a power not only to preserve his property—that is, his life, liberty, and estate—against the injuries and attempts of other men, but to judge and punish the breaches of the law in others as he is persuaded the offense deserves.
In other words, property is a basic, essential right, and every man is permitted to preserve this right per the laws of nature. Since individual action aimed at property protection often descends into civil altercations, governments are typically established to preserve this right. Fithian holds no respect for this most basic of rights, and seeks to dismantle the mechanisms of its protection, and has the resources, the time, and the “useful idiots” to do so. The design is to move forward in phases. Read this excerpt from OWS emails, now
public, thanks to Andrew Breitbart:
Phase 1 = Vanguard moves in, initiates occupation, largely dismissed, but staying power piques curiosity and police misconduct/violence draws attention and wins sympathy.
Phase 2 = Vanguards in other cities recognize potential, initiate occupations…large membership orgs endorse and give legitimacy that wasn’t present before, now the media start to change tune. Focus of coverage is human interest story of life in the park; and, what do they want?
Phase 3 = Mainstream media interest explodes…Democratic leadership embrace movement…Media coverage attributes power to movement.
Phase 4 = ?
We currently find ourselves in phase 3. Senior members of the Whitehouse Administration, and the President himself, have expressed support for OWS…Bloomberg gives tacit “permission” for our occupation, effectively rendering it non-threatening and normalizing it.
Additionally, the document advocates “civil disobedience and arrests.” OWS protests have already resulted in unconscionable injury of the
elderly. Presumably, Fithian is on board with this type of attack on the innocent, so long as a state of crisis is achieved, where her ideas can surface as solutions to the manufactured problems resulting from the state of crisis. When interviewed by the New York Times, Lisa Fithian
remarked, “When people ask me, ‘What do you do?’ I say I create crisis, because crisis is that edge where change is possible.” Fithian, the core of OWS, wants “crisis.” But, crisis leading to what? If polls are any
indicator, Fithian’s OWS crisis-bating will lead and has lead to widespread violence. Fithian’s statement regarding crisis sounds eerily similar to the
statements of former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, i.e. “Never waste a crisis….”
If “crisis” and the inevitable anarchy that follows is indeed achieved, martial law will likely be in the cards. President Obama has already
removed the legal obstacles to the implementation of martial law. In fact, one of his first actions as President was to implement a Bush-era executive order basing 80,000 active-duty troops domestically to help with “civil unrest and crowd control.” Is there something Obama knows that Americans do not? Does Fithian want to turn the American economy upside down and encourage governing officials to institute stricter controls on private life? In a word, yes. The
endorsement of OWS by the Communist Party (CPUSA) is evidence enough, since the platform of the CPUSA dating back to the seventies has included
strategies for the complete destruction of the American economy in the free market sense, requiring more extensive state controls and mechanisms to effect redistribution of wealth. OWS has not rejected Communist funding and support, signifying alignment with CPUSA goals, at least in part.
So far, OWS has been successful. It flies in the face of logic, then, for conservatives to laugh this off when all the evidence is that OWS is succeeding in its primary objectives. A new modus operandi is required to tackle the growing problem of snowballing lawlessness advanced by OWS. In an email intended for insiders only, Lisa Fithian
intimated,
We’re in this for the long haul. There are no “solutions” that can be presented quickly to make us go away. And so there will be moments where our presence is no longer an uncomfortable and unknown variable, but rather is normalized and integrated. It’s in those moments that we have to push the envelop [sic], pry open the space of possibility even farther. We go as far as we can to destabalize [sic], but maintain momentum. And when that’s the new “normal” then we go farther. That’s how change happens, how we shift the terrain and the terms of the game.
While such statements should shock Americans (and would, if the facts were being reported) this is nothing new. In fact, Weather Underground and other noted radical sixties groups like the Black Panthers, represented a dry-run. Judging by the level of
global organization, combined with the speed at which information and ideas can be relayed, Fithian’s clan is likely the real thing. If this is true, Americans should be very
worried. Riots are already
spreading, and where there are OWS occupiers, rapes are not
uncommon, as well as other public displays of lewdness.
As Abraham Lincoln once warned, “There is no grievance that is a fit object of redress by mob law…But, it may be asked, why suppose danger to our political institutions? Have we not preserved them for more than fifty years? And why may we not for fifty times as long?”
Lincoln continued, saying, “We hope all dangers may be overcome; but to conclude that no danger may ever arise, would itself be extremely dangerous. There are now, and will hereafter be, many causes, dangerous in their tendency, which have not existed heretofore; and which are not too insignificant to merit attention… At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”
America would do well to heed the sober admonitions of this great American, a man who ended slavery and broke the Constitution in order to reestablish its salient attributes with superior fortitude.
OWS radicals are going to push farther than ever before. We must be prepared. Cities must not relinquish law and order to these mobs. And American apathy must be converted to resolve. We must be resolved that these subversives will not be permitted to destroy the land of the free. It would be interesting to observe Fithian’s reaction if mobs were to “occupy” her home. Who knows, Obama may send law enforcement officers to protect the participants, just as he did for the SEIU thugs who
terrorized Bank of America CEO Greg Baer and his family. After all, private property “really doesn’t matter; it’s just glass and products.”
