Islamists in our midst.
Two women who were inspired by the Islamic State group have been arrested outside New York City for allegedly attempting to build a bomb.
The suspects, in their 20s and 30s, are supposed to appear in a federal court in Brooklyn, N.Y., later today, sources told ABC News.
ABC’s sources said that the public was never in danger because the women were watched as part of a lengthy undercover FBI operation.
Over the past month authorities have also arrested an Army National Guard soldier and his cousin in connection with an alleged terror plot, as well as 47-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh.
Army National Guardsman Hasan Edmonds, 22, was arrested March 25 at Midway Airport in Illinois. His cousin, 29-year-old Jonas Edmonds, was arrested the saame day in Aurora, Ill.
