Two masked gunmen stormed into a Columbia, South Carolina, barber shop Frida, and ordered everyone inside to put their hands up as they began going through customers’ pockets.
But the two criminals likely weren’t expecting anyone else to be armed — they were wrong.

Master barber Elmurray Bookman and one of his customers each have their concealed weapon permits, so when the robbers demanded everything, Bookman and his client outsmarted them.
“When he came to him for his money, he told him that his money was over there in the chair. When the guy walked over to the chair, that’s when he came out and shot,” Bookman said, according to WLTX-TV.
“Then when he started shooting, I came out and started shooting,” Bookman added. That’s when one of the men got up and headed for the back door.
“The man who got shot tried to go through the back door, and it was jammed up,” barber Brandon Dreher said. “He ended up getting shot again because the door was stuck.”
That man later died at a nearby hospital, but his partner escaped, WLTX reported.
No other injuries were reported, but the barbers say they’re concerned about the effects the incident had on the children who witnessed it all go down.
