The elderly man was on a Manhattan-bound M train at the Myrtle/Wyckoff Avenue station in Bushwick at about midnight on Sunday when a thug approached him, knocked him to the floor and kicked and punched him before snatching his wallet — containing a credit card and $20 — and his cell phone.
The attacker made a quick getaway off the train.
Besides a broken rib, the victim also suffered lacerations to his face. He was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
