On parole?
A man on parole for murder attacked a bus driver and then a cop who tried to arrest him on Thursday, officials said.
Ronell Sweat, 38, was riding in a Bx41 bus at 7 a.m. when he threatened driver James Sacktig and then punched him in the face as he was pulling into a stop on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx, said cops.
Sacktig responded by smacking Sweat in the face with his intercom handset.
Sweat, who was imprisoned for murder in 1997 and released last year, then attacked the cops who responded. He injured Officer Larry Weinstein of the 52nd precinct, who is in stable condition.
The bus driver was treated at the scene.
Cops charged Sweat with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and disorderly conduct.
