Shameless ethically challenged Democrats. Skin color is more important.
He’s looking good — and taking it as a tax write-off.
Jumaane Williams, who’s running for lieutenant governor in the Sept. 13 Democratic primary, released five years of tax returns on Wednesday and they showed he deducted more than $8,000 in “grooming and maintenance” expenses in that period.
The IRS doesn’t generally permit deductions for that.
“What are you doing writing off haircuts?” rhetorically asked veteran GOP strategist Ed Rollins, who isn’t affiliated with any New York campaign this year. “The typical taxpayer is not deducting haircuts from their taxes. It’s silly and stupid.”
Williams reported earning $129,480 last year, mostly from his salary as a City Council member.
Every year for the last five years, the returns show, he has written off at least $10,000 in what he claimed as unreimbursed business expenses connected to his job as a Brooklyn lawmaker.
He even declared $2,671 in rent and other bills from his Flatbush apartment as a business expense, saying he sometimes conducted his work duties from home.
The Post previously reported that Bank of America filed court papers in 2014 to seize a house he owns in Canarsie after Williams failed to make payments on a second mortgage for four years.
According to court papers, the past-due bill is now nearly $625,000.
