Gov. Cuomo fires chief of Emergency Management after selfish Sandy clean-up order

Gov. Cuomo fired his chief of Emergency Management after the aide ordered clean-up crews to remove a tree from his Long Island property ahead of more serious problems following Hurricane Sandy, sources told The Post.
Steven Kuhr, whose title was the director of the State Office of Emergency Management, was in Albany when the storm hit, leaving a tree in his driveway.
As crews worked to clear wreckage throughout state, including those whose entire homes were destroyed, Kuhr called Suffolk County officials and asked for the favor, the source said.
After learning about the stunningly selfish act on Monday, Cuomo fired him.
Steven Kuhr.

Kuhr, who according to online records earned $153,000, was the director for about one year.
Kuhr has had a series of with New York City including as deputy director for operations and planning for the Office of Emergency Management.
Cuomo’s office declined comment and Kuhr did not immediately return a request for comment.
